The Chatham’s are a small group of islands with a unique and astonishingly rich biological heritage. The island group is home to 20 percent of New Zealand’s threatened bird species and 14 percent of our threatened plants.

Recent years have seen significant conservation work to restore native ecosystems and some dramatic success stories, such as the recovery of the Chatham Island Black Robin, which had dwindled to only one breeding pair by 1980. Other rare and beautiful birds and plants await your discovery.

Should you request to share accommodation (twin share) and are not travelling with a companion, we will endeavour to arrange a person to share your room. For a guaranteed single room with shared facilities there is no extra cost. For a guaranteed single room with ensuite private facilities a single supplement will apply.

We also recommend that you avail yourself of the excellent value option which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner whilst on the Chatham’s, daily touring, garden / entrances fees as per the itinerary and the services of a local tour host/driver. The meals on the Chatham Islands are top quality and there is a selection of fresh cod, crayfish and paua as well as other quality restaurant selections.
